D.O. There are two types of degrees that physicians can get in the United States which will allow them to be licensed topractice medicine, prescribe medications and perform surgeries. The other type is the M.D., or Medical Doctor degree. Both D.O.s and M.Ds receive similar medical training, but D.O.s also receive additional training in the musculoskeletal system. This additional training allows them to provide more holistic care to patients by taking into account the body as a whole rather than just treating specific symptoms or illnesses.

The school was founded in 2018 and its inaugural class of students began attending that year.

  • The D.O. The first two years of ICOM's four-year program consist of lectures, laboratory and clinical experiences conducted in small groups. and the last two years, during which students engage primarily in clinical training at affiliated centers.
  • ICOM has 9 coreaffiliated centers, withalmost 30 in total.

Technology plays a vital role in the education process at ICOM, which is demonstrated by modern facilities such as clinical simulation rooms that are equipped with high-tech features like cameras and microphones.
The Admissions process to ICOM can be quite rigorous as it is the lone institution for Medical schooling in Idaho. 162 students were admitted to the class of 2018. The average MCAT score was 503, and the average GPA was 3.45.
-To apply to ICOM, prospective students must complete the online AACOMAS application.
-Idaho residents considering a career in medicine have the option to attend the University of Washington's medical school at in-state tuition prices through a partnership between UW and the state of Idaho.
